Braided brake lines.

    Total noob question....

    http://www.kamracing.co.uk/index.php...o-vtr-vts.html

These kits, are they a replacement for the copper lines back from the calliper to the next joint? (pr valve on the rear)
  2. #2
No, the replace the exsisting rubber hoses, but being braided they can withstand high pressures.

    ahhhhh cheers.

Are flexi kits available for what I described above or is the only option to replace with new copper pipes?
  4. #4
You can replace the whole system with braided lines and run them inside the car is the best option. Costs a lot though for all that piping and the fittings

We can do custom lines to whatever spec you desire.....

    I'll be in touch.

Hi, say my saxo furio, the brake hose goin to caliper miy standard would just undo and these would straight bolt back in place of them giving some nice braking power ??

you are not going to get massively improved braking power unless your standard brakes are knackered no matter what people say so I would upgrade when you either have your brake system apart, are uprading pads and fluid (as system is drained) or are replacing worn components.

As Kam says, a nice upgrade and another thing crossed off the possible MOT failure sheet, but don't expect to stop on a 10 pence because of them.

Worth doing though, if only because they look pretty slick.

If someone who has one of these full kits fitted could post up or email me a few photographs, particularly of the connections at the brake bias valve at the rear, I'd be very grateful.

I ripped my brake bias valve out and just fitted a Wilwood one.

Are your lines running inside the car then?
  13. #13
Full kits give no added benefit over just replacing the flexi hoses with braided lines. They dont give added braking power either, just a firmer pedal and less feel. Worth every penny imo as they sharpen up brakes a treat.
  14. #14
The only benefit of full kits is if you run them inside the car a passenger can't crimp the braided line with their feet like they could with copper. Locking up the fronts and nothing on the rears.

Full kits will cost a few hundred £ more than the £35 hoses from kam mate

I understand that they won't give added stopping power, I'm just pretty much going the whole hog so am going to fit braided. Any pics anyone?

JoshB do you have a link for said bias valve?

    Cheers.

they help with pressures and are allot less likly to burst

i told my insurnce compnay i had them and got a big discount

Just go on demon tweeks and search proportioning valve. Threre are loads. Around £100 for one though, and you will need to plump the lines inside the car
