CLunked when about to reverse? :S

    hey there i have a W plate vts and i havent had any problems but today i went to reverse it off my drive.....( i may add that i have quite a steep drive ) but yer i put it in reverse and waiting for it to roll back but it didnt.....the handbrake was off as well so i lifted off the clutch slightly and it felt liek there was something stopping it and then it just made a clunk sound and reversed back as normal :s......any suggestions what it could have been?

    Sounds like the handbrake shoes or whatever you call them were binding. How long has the car been stood on your drive? Im guessing a few days?

    no not even 24 hours! i drove it yesterday. My pads at the back r pretty worn if that hasnt anything to do with it? Altho i dont know why there so worn....i bouht mintex pads all round and the rear ones have worn so fast
