What does it take to fit 17's?

  1. #1
I've been offered some 17" pro race 1.2s for virtually nothing in cit/pug fitment, just wondering if or how I could get them to fit?

The plan is to use these as daily wheels and keep my mint 205 GTi alloys for special occasions

What's the lowest you can get away on 17s? As I'm planning on running 175lb 240mm springs so I don't know how much that will drop the car by, I guess somwhere between 30-40mm? Would this be too much?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

17's no chance... 16's with 45 profile tyres dont like lowered 60
soooooo im guessing 17 with 45 profile would hardly fit even on standard height
then it wud loke a bit joke anyway

on the other hand... 17's would fit a 206 gti 180 quite nicely. if you knew someone with one of those???

    That would look gastly.

16's look gash let alone 17's.

Dont attempt! Buy them for next to nothing refurb sell on ebay..

16 on front will only rub full lock at 60mm... at rear it will rub over everybump unless you grind some metal away then there fine at 60mm

Hmm might just give them a miss then...

    Was worth asking though

The S will be sat about -30 once the billies are on I guess this is still too low though?

They would be on for my daily motorway trek, if I was going to a show or a blast where I needed handling I'd get the 15s straight on

    You want them Adam?

One is brand new, the other four are older, iirc 2 need a refurb and the other 2 are ok, two have brand new tyres and two have 3/4mm

I'll try and get some pics at some point
