What Sensor Is This?

    Hi Gang,

Im in the process of fitting some aftermarket instrumentation on a track car im constructing.
Not sure what sensor this was (see pic), my guess is oil temperature.
Its a late Saxo VTR. In the picture is the side of the cylinder head just above the gearbox, below where the coil pack would be. The other sensor is a new coolant temp (into the thermostat housing).
    Cheers

You got a pic from further out, hard to say from that shot where abouts it is.

If thats the coolent temp for the ECU then the one missin would be the temp sensor for the dash right?

Theres no sensor.. its just a hole? it could be for a water temp sensor or it could just be a casting type hole

I just had a look at a similar head ive got on the shelf, theres a threaded hole but it is blank at the end.
The one in the car deffinately had a sensor in it however because I took it out. Is there two seperate coolant temp sensors for the ecu and dash? that would probably be it if thats the case, was hoping it was an oil temp sensor so I could use the fitting for my after market gauge. Cant get any better pics at the minute as the car is in the garage some miles away! It is right in the center of the right hand side of the cylinder head, just above the gearbox.
    Thanks for the help chaps.

Turns out the hole in the head was "dead ended", why a temperature sensor was put in there I do not know!
