your breather pipe looks kinked and you want to watch that you dont suck up a small hedgehog

there is a big enough gap in the front cross bar member. you know where your toe bar is there is a similar pillar on the opposite side and that to me looks like the best place as its in the bottom grill so loads of air will be there.

From past experience you are going to be hoovering the roads with that cold air feed mick. Im not sure if its the same on a vts, but on my vtr iv wedged my cold air feed infront of the power steering pump as there is a hole in the body work there. Have a look

The passenger fog light would be a better place, not great, but better.

what about between the slam pannel and the rad it will then sit behind the grille but it would not be so good as the cold air feed would be too high to be fed up through the bottom of the heatsheild! but i think hmmmm fog light?

I wouldn't worry about a cold air feed your going to use that filter, a tiny little pipe is going to make FA difference when your engine is sucking in all the hot air from under the bonnet. You'd be better off making a heat sheild for your manifold first.

to be fair the K&N already has a heat shield. His cold air set up is what K&N recommends which I personally think is fine. Only improvement I could think of is to have the feed from the headlight or the foglight.
