Seating...

I have a 2001 Furio, I want to swap the seats with a 2001 VTR, just wondering if I need to change the frames that are attatched to the floor or is it a simple way of just taking the old seats off and then attatching the new ones??

    Cheers

I did it last weekend mate, it is literally a straight swap, just undoing the four bolts on each seat and whacking in the new ones. Dont forget to undo the seat belt pretensioners

Nice one mate, much appreciated. Did you notice alot of difference in the seats? Im sick of the gay furio ones...

The VTR/S seat have a lot firmer sides on them to hold you in on the twisty bits. They don't have piping round them either.

Yes mate, i noticed a lot of difference, the new seats are far more comfy, they hug you a lot more and they dont look like a child has drawn over them!

Here are pics of my new interior: (thanks to artnmotion )

The lower back bench doesnt have any bolts - as you may aswell leave the mounts on for your new interior. Just lift it up from the back (where seat belts are) it will tilt towards you, then simply pull it of its mounts. The the top of the backbench has 4 nuts to undo (as riggsy said), if you tilt the seats forward, and take the parcel shelf out you can access them really easily.

I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to change them!

Alex, you're interior looks ALOT better...

Thanks for the tips people, I'm 'hopefully' doing it with someone that has done it before so technically he should know what he's doing...

How long did it take you al?

I had to do mine in bits as i was fitting new rear speakers. And i had stripped out my rear seats and doorcards before i went to collect my new interior. I reckon it could all be done in a day (providing its good enough weather )

If you do get in any real problems give us a shout! if your in fleet your not that far away from me mate, only live in Reading.

    Happy fitting

Heya mate, it didnt take me very long... Did it all one evening (with brothers help) just a cut mdf board with several strips of pine screwed on to raise it up. Then carpeted (tacked on). Then attatched corner mounts to amp window and fitted acrylic.

There is a neon in the window too

I still think it looks better at night:

K cheers mate, will keep that in mind if I get in any trouble. Did you say you were at college? Which would mean your on half term?

By the way that fake floor looks well smart. I wanted to do that but my amps connected to my sub...
