cold air feed

  1. #1
how do you lot run your cold air feed from the fog... had a little look and its got all the power steerin etc there
  2. #2
its easier to run the feed to the protecting shield behind the radiator. This comes off easily and its no problem to cut the right size hole you need to take the ducting.
  3. #3
but then it goes over the mani... so the air wont be cold...
  4. #4
this is mine but im going to move it

why does it need to be near to the ground in the foglight?

I'd run it a bit higher up tbh to stop it getting battered by stones and maybe water.

Maybe look to run it through the scuttle panel and just behind the grill up top? At least then it doesn't go near the manifold, and you can then make it as straight as possible to try and get as much performance from it as you can

ye mine would gget ruined that low

was goin to take the fogs out and have it in there but just wanna know how people get it passed the power steering

they must go around it or under it - I'd cut a hole in the lower slam panel and go through there and then behind the bumper and into the fog

    ok mate

guna have to be a decent sized hole :|
  10. #10
thats the only problem with that.I had a k&n 57i and the instructions said to do that, after a bit the plastic ducting they supplied melted so i replaced and re routed the ducting as far from the mani as i could which i also upgraded to the silver type ducting.Ive not seen any1 run from the fog but i bet theres some1 that has, hopefully they post a pic for you.
  11. #11
ye ive heard a few people doing it... but ye i think it will lok smart in the fog
  12. #12

  13. #13

  16. #16
i just put a feed from my air box to the vtr scoop on the slam panel, not sure how good it is tho lol

  17. #17
thats what i had ill upload some pictures of what i just did... not to keen on it if iam honest....
  18. #18
Sam i did it not so long ago. Is possible just a slag to do tbh.
  19. #19
heres a few pictures... not very good ones to be honest

out there air box down right then straight down

you can see it going straight down

another turn to get round the power steering

    out to the fog

dont really know if i like it yet think there is to many turns
  20. #20
^^ btw you've got someone stuck to your bumper

I'm not a big fan tbh, there'll be barely any gain doing that due to the turns/changes in pipes etc.

Just have it coming straight out of the bmc and make some holes in the slam panel to give it some air = job done.
  21. #21
ye i think i will to be honest.... only gain is no fogs that i like
    and his my mate

i just went through the original scoop, works fine as far as i know!!! plenty of cold air and not too close to the manifold!! was thinking of going through fog light, im sure somewhere online you can get scoops specially designed for the fog light!!! some pictures on my profile
  26. #26

thinking of getting a k&n gen 2 for my mk2 silver vtr, and was wondering if it might be possible to run the cold air feed to the front grill and then mesh the grill and fit one of those trumpet things into the grill, bit like the metal ports on a subwoofer box and attach the cold air feed to that.
    Would this work?

  33. #33
Sadly My C2 hasn't got any accses to front grill..
i have to get the air feed from fog light(or lover grill)..

it would be the same feed as front grill gives, i suppose..
