1.4 driveshafts on vts engine???

    my current driveshafts on vts are gone currently no funds to get new ones although i do have the 1.4 shafts from other engine will they be ok to use as temporary or will it effect the engine/power??

    They wont fit in the VTS gearbox properly.

    as db said they wont fit, you have to use either you can use any 'sports' model shafts, so thats vtr/vts/gti/rallye or xsi

    only difference beiing due to the smaller diff in the gearbox on lower models the part of the shaft that goes into the gearbox is long so it wont fit into the 'sports' boxs properly

    *edit* shame your so far away i have actually got a spare used driveshaft here that came off my s2 rallye so will fit your car

    they will fit just they will leak abit of oil

    yea they will fit, i had vtr shafts in my 1.1 box on my vts engine (what a bloody explosion of random parts ) and yea it leaked a bit of oil but it worked for a good few hundred miles until my gearbox fell out

    theyre pratically the same as a vts box.

    hmm thats handy to know

    im needing a shaft for passanger side of my VTR mk2 but am struggling to get one what other models will fit and fit right?

    106 small blocks are a no no are they ?

    Mk2 VTR/VTS/GTI

    Make sure its mk2 as they have tapered shafts which the mk1s dont

    ah now i didnt know that it would have to be mk2 shaft thats handy glad ive not wasted my money on one already then lol

    What year is your car, as the early mk2s still have mk1 running gear..

    i was going to buy a damaged small block 106 for spares but looks like ill only get a wiper motor and bits and bobs off it now
