Exhaust hanger close to snaping

   The exhaust hanger ( the one connected to the car) is so rusty it has come away from the car and is about to snap off, the other side is ok though.
   As a result my exhaust is hanging down a good half inch from what its supposed to be.
   What can I do ? obviously have a new 1 welded to to the underside of the car will have to be done but what would be the cost of this ?
   Also is there anything i can do as a short term solution?

   Short term. Make a bracket with 2 hole in it. Cable tie the hanger through one hole and rivet the other hole to the car. Done. Put some cloth inbetween the bracket and hanger so it doesn't rattle

   there is a circular hole where a screw may have been on the wheel arch, what if i was to feed copper wire through and clamp together to make a hoop. then use a few cable ties from the exhaust hanger through the copper loop ?
