Tailpipe rolled in or out?

   buying an exhuast off some bloke off ebay with a 3'' tailpipe and he has asked the above, does anyone know th difference is, looks-wise and performance-wise?
   
   I'm wanting something that sounds sporty, but not too ridiculous. My instinct is telling me rolled in

   i prefer the look of slash cut exhaust like the supersprint but out the two id have a rolled out, i really dont like rolled in ones
