Whats the best cheapish coilovers that i can buy and people would recommend??

The Raceland ones are well cheap but they snap in half. You get what you pay for, if you want to be driving a death trap go for the cheapest.

106pete had a guide on making custom coilover out of a set of v-maxx ones seems to be the best way without paying £300+ for a set

If you can't afford proper ones, dont bother at all.

but to make them good he probably ended up paying £300 odd quid....

First decide whether you need coilovers. Virtually everyone I know with coilovers on a road car never adjusts them! You can buy a good conventional damper setup which will give better handling and ride for the same price as a bad coilover kit.
If you are seriously into your trackdays then a coilover kit will allow you to run stiffer suspension without compromising ride height, but then you still want good handling characteristics of a good damper unit so need to spend more.

A high quality conventional damper unit like the bilstein are lighter, control the car better and last longer.
