Central Locking question

  1. #1
is a saxo with central locking supposed to have central boot locking too

My saxo has central locking (not remote), and if I operate either door, they both unlock, as does the boot, and closing is the same. However, when I operate the key in the boot one, it only opens the boot. Is this supposed to happen, or is there a problem?

I tried a search but couldn't find anything when I looked

    Thanks

if it had remote locking as standard it should open the bott, however yours is just key operated central locking, so it will not open the boot as it doesnt have solenoid in the boot, i guess yours is a 5 door then?

The door locks open both doors and the boot (it's a 3 door), but the boot lock only opens the boot, and I have to use the key to open the doors again.

    Sorry, should've been more clear.

ah right, get you now, 3 doors should have remote locking, my mates car opens the doors from the boot, so yours should i would have thought, have a look at the sunroof and see if there a black box, if there is you should have remote locking

incorrect, he says he's got a mk1 1.1. he will have key operated c/l.

yes it is perfectly normal for the boot to open via doors but not the other way round.
