Taking car out of gear

   While driving along should i be able to take the car out of gear without pressing the clutch? I only did this in 5th and 4th and each time i did it they came out with no grinds etc..

   yep, i've been driving around all day today in the van practicing changing gear without the clutch. Going up the box is a doddle going down is a bit trickier!

   you are able to do it at certain revs in each gear. but i dont trust it. clutch for me thankyou

   yea you can knock it out of gear without pressing the clutch, should be no grinding because you are only putting it into nutral.
   
   its when you start trying to put it in gear with out the clutch it grinds.

   My dads a beggar for this. Going along and he slips it into neutral causing me to rev the tits off it before realising its not in gear!

   Yeah mate that fine. TBH i sometime do it when i approach traffic lights where i know i have to stop.
   
   Just dont put it in gear without the clutch.

   some cars are more forgiving than others for this, my focus i can change gear without using the clutch, but the saxo naaaaa grind
