Electric fan wont go off

  1. #1
Just bought an X Reg Saxo Forte and noticed the fuse was missing for the electric fan in the fuse box under the bonnet.

Popped a new 30 amp fuse in the right place and the fan wont now switch off with the ignition off. Switch on the engine and the fan stops!

    Any ideas whats wrong?

No the fan doesnt seem to go off at all - where is the temp sensor located?

IIRC Early mk1 saxo had a temp switch on the radiator to activate fan and Mk2's fan's are contolled by ecu. Sometimes ecu spazzes out and won't switch it off. Try disconnecting battery overnight. (note saxo has green sensor for ecu to know what temperature the coolant is (for fueling and fan activation) and a blue sensor for dashboard gauge). If I am incorect please correct this thread.
