Aftermarket wishbone balljoint help.

  1. #1
    Hi guys,

After some help as it seems the pair or wishbones I recently purchased differ, one likely to be an aftermarket one.

I'm replacing the balljoints in both however the aftermarket one seems to require a larger ailment balljoint.

I've read about this before on here somewhere but can't find the thread, so can somebody help a brother out and let me know where I can purchase the larger balljoints to suit the aftermarket wishbone?

    Many thanks.

are you sure its a larger hole? Have the outer balljoint rings been removed from both arms? The usually seperate and stay stuck in the arms when you press them out.

I can put the balljoints into the lower arm fully home and spin it with my fingers.

I don't bother pressing them out, just in. Big hammer and edge of a steel workbench removes the ball joint totally when you hit it hard enough

    Anybody have any ideas ?

This OS (right) arm Accepts standard replacement ball joints

Both seemed the same thickness at the neck near the ball joint though...

Think i read somewhere that bilstein made aftermarket whishbones (not sure if they were uprated in any way). Maybe pop them an email with sizes on..

I believe they are made by MAPCO.

At this rate it would be easier to just bin off this wishbone and get another one that is genuine peugeot =[
