#2how bad is the thread? You could try running a tap though it to see if it will clean up to a satisfactory standard. Or you could helicoil it to repair.
I would try this first before going to the expense/time fo changing the whole hub -
#3helicoil???? could you please explain what this is. I thought putting a tap down it would just make the hole bigger?? cheers

#4No, a drill would make the hole bigger. A tap is a tool used to cut internal threads or in this case could be used to remove the burrs on your existing thread and therfore making the thread useable again.
A helicoil is a small wire that is wound into the thread (a new thread has to be made) to bring the diamter back to its original size. It is commonly used in aerospace and motorsport in aluminium items as it provides a much stronger thread them aluminium by spreading the force on the bolt across all threads rather than just the top two.
some intrusctions on how to fit a helicoil

#5Don't suppose it was you i saw at harry bucklands scrappy today? You were taking a bit off a red vt? and I was getting something from inside?
-
#6not today mate, but I was there wed's getting some rear clusters out the yellow one
That was a nightmare as they didn't have the keys to open the boot. I had to take the lock off from inside with borrowed tools, it took me longer to find a 10mm socket than it did for me to drive there lol

#7Haha always take my own tools there, I live just down the road from harrys!
