Dial Problems

   Hi people just woundered if anyone can help.
   
   The dials on my saxo are going abit mental. As i'm driving along the dials will suddenly die and the flicker and come back on, this happens over and over again. As they do this my headlights go bright and then dim, Then they'll work fine for abit and then do it again..it feels as tho there abit of a power surge. could this be a fault alternator?? Its doing my head in abit
   
   Any help will be awesome.

   do you have a boot build or any kind of sub and amp??

   check for loose battery terminals

   The only thing I have is 6x9's no amp or subs, there wired from the head unit.
   
   Check the battery terminals, there on tight.
   
   It dosent seem to do it at higher speed (not that i speed of course ) or high revs....it only seems to do it when the revs are constant, like at low speeds whens the revs are between 2500 - 3000 for a while. Could it be the altenator over powering the battery? I may be pluking at straws here.

   wouldnt have thought it would be the alternatore if its doing it specifically. how longs it been going on for?
   
   a knackered alternator will fail to charge the battery but then you'd get a complete loss of power like i did in my corsa.

   Its been doing it a while, I'd say just before xmas it started. Its really weird, The lights go bright for a second the dim back down then the dash flickers all the dial die and the come back on. No warning lights come on.

   Very occasionally my rev meter behaves like this - flickers all over the place, centred around the revs. After turning the ignition on/off a few tiems it stops and touchwood it hasn't done it recently. Interested to hear what the solution to this one is...
