Charcoal Canister

When the engines idleing, there is a quick ticking noise coming from behind the drivers wheel arch. Its best heard if you open the drivers door and crouch down.

I've had a search and i believe its a charcoal canistor and it has something to do with fuel vapour/pressure?

Can anyone shed any light on the ticking? Is it a problem?

PS- Its defo not tappets btw and I don't believe its the drivebelt either but I could be wrong!

    Thanks

it vents from the inlet iirrc
its something to do with emissions
    it does fuck all.
it vents through that so that fuel vapours dont get released into the environment irrcc.

    wing off.
    remove it
then block the tube off from the inlet(with a bolt/screw) something that stops it from leaking out.
