Dunno if this is the right area, but fitted my new piper 3.5" back box today to my supersprint center, it wasnt the best of fits as both connections were the same unlike the old vtr back box, was just wondering if this was ok, and has any1 else got the same setup?

#2I fitted exactly the same recently mate with no problems. With the piper box i got a fitting kit including an "o" type metal ring with sits inside and goes between the 2 ends. Put some exhaust paste around this, place it in, then clamp with an olive clamp as you would normaly, and you will have an airtight seal

#3ah i havent got the "o" type part, dont suppose you know if can buy it.
how loud was it?? -
#4Just had a little search and cant really see anywhere where you can buy it separately.I fitted my old exhaust without it though, just put loads of paste on the 2 ends and clamp tight with the olive clamp.

Yeah its quite loud but not over the top. I've got the straight through s/s centre section with decat and no silencer. Gets very raspy over 3000rpm and pops and bangs quite a lot. That's on a vts so not sure if will be same on a vtr -
#5yeah i brought a new clamp and rubbers, seems to of clamped togther ok, mines just seems really loud, may just be that i havent had an aftermarket exhaust on a car since my first car over 6 yrs ago

#7most factors store o rings, they are only a few quid
-
#8just unsure what type im supposed to be getting
-
#9there is only 2 that fit 106's/saxo's

#11If you can take the back box off, take it to any motor factors or exhaust place.
And ask for an olive to suit this.
Thats what I did anyway. -
#12cheers it seems to be ok without anything there at mo, was quite a gd seal, now got another problem the backbox keeps sliding off one of the rubber mounts is there anyway of stopping this, or should i just take my car into a garage and get them to refit the lot lol
