Hi when i replaced my gearbox my dad decided to put the driveshafts back in by himself , he used a hammer and chizel to try and force the driverside driveshaft back in as it became stiff when he was trying to sit the bearing into the houseing. He used the chizel on the cylinder block which is situated on the driveshaft just up from the bearing. I noticed he had made little dents using the chizel but didnt think anything of it, however the other day when i had my car up i noticed that the driveshaft has started to seep a fair bit of oil from the cylinder block where hhe has chizzled it (its leaking between the dent which is at the end of the cylinder block and the rubber boot whhich is on the end of the block) .When i turn the wheel as the car is jacked up it clicks from the joint which is connected to this cylinder block. When i drive the car though i hear no noise. Does anybody know if i will need to replace my driveshaft or will it last for ages until the joint runs dry ?
