Electrics problem

  1. #1
Sometimes whilst driving a long the elcectric (beneath glove box) make a wierd noise, argh cant describe it but its like short circuiting? the sound for my indicators also come from the left hand side of the car, is that correct? also another thing is whilst the electrics sometimes make this noise, the sound of the indicator comes on for a couple of clicks, not actually on, just the sound.

My car radio also doesnt work but is this a seperate issue?

finally, what is the reason and what the hell can i do!

    thankyou

The clicking sound of indicators isn't made for the fun of it. The sound is made by relay's. They are like an electrically operated switch that allows high current circuits to be switched by low current circuits. Thats the clicking sound that turns on and off with the indicators. They are what look like little boxes. You can see them if you look just above the fuses.
Not sure what your problem is but it sounds like a relay related problem. Try replacing them, they aren't much

The indicator/headlights stalk was causing the noise on mine. Was simply worn out.

I got a one from a scrappy, that caused the same noise. So i bought a brand new one. Havent heard the noise since

Dont no if you've sorted this by now but it'll be a relay. If you look under the dash in the you'll see all the relays. The one ticking will prob be a grey coloured one. (was on mine) I had the same problem, changed it and its never done it since mate.
