Important! : Spoox front wishbone rear bushes!!

Have a set of these and im wanting to fit them, however the original bushed are a press fit, due to the shape of the arm, you cant get the correct angle to press the original ones off without damaging the arm itself. anyone fitted theses before?

phone call to spoox i think?

i remember someone on here used a blow torch to melt the bush out. but i may well be wrong.

Mate had some fitted via a press and broke both wishbones.

Another friend spoke to spoox about this on a visit to them and they showed him that they can just be hammered on

There was not a chance in hell that they were going to go on with a simply hammering on. They will require a press but make sure its got a vice to grip the wishbone as the place i went to used the front bush arm to rest on which bent the wishbone.

Would save yourself some hassle personally and take them to spoox.

may just sell them on and use the original ones as there is nothing wrong with them, will give spoox a call tommorow, will it be worth doing them? see much of a difference?

PErsonaly fave method is a screwdriver and a hammer to get most of the rubber/bracket off then an angle grinder for the sleeve

Sorry, purely going on what Spoox say they do to fit them

With the spoox bushes aswel theyre not a great design and you will have to grind some of it away on the edge of the metal nearest the ARB as it does not fit with the ARB clamp and fouls badly unless you grind off a decent chunk or ditch the arb.

Sell them on and get the pugsport group n ones perhaps? Thats what ill do if i ever replace mine, but for now my standard rear bushes are brand new so makes no sense to hack them off.

Use the polyrace (red) front bushes and the wishbone has very little movement anyway

^^ are those a press fit or same as powerflex slip them in by hand?

i fitted these to mine, and yes they can simply be hammered on, and it was me that blow torched the old ones off lol, they do go on m8 just takes a bit of time.

as above - burn off the rubber and then angle grinder for the sleeves - carefull not to go to deep and score the pin though

polyrace front bushes? they wont go in by hand but only a gentle bit of persuasion with a suitable mallet or hammer is needed.

The spoox rears are simply hammer on items. You look at 99% of them and they have been hammered on. If you use a press you need to be very carefull.

Did try but there wasnt even a hope in hells chance of getting it started. They were able to be hammered on to some extent once they were on a certain amount but to start off with no amount of hitting with the hammer would work.

yeah ive used and fit these myself before. not impressed with them. rather use standard ones they are more reliable. i tore x2 pairs of powerflex front ones. one pair with the spoox rears and one without. i dont like the spoox or shenpar. they dont fit properly as the arm can move as its not pressed onto the bush. those who have/had these will know what i am talking about.

proper group n ones or standard for me. not worth bothering with the rest, powerflex, polyrace, etc... loads of you will dissagree with me tho i am sure...

i took my wishbones to a garage to get my polysport ones fitted and they said they couldnt do it with the press i originally thought it was a load of bollocks obviously not lol im gonna be doing it my self later today i think, im going to use a drill to drill most of the rubber away then get a set of moles grips to twist it out then use a hack saw to get the collar out
