Exhaust Blowing

  1. #1
Hi me and tinytim6666 from here fitted a new exhaust yesterday, the job lot and its slightly blowing from the clamp where the 2 centre sections slot into each other so my question is shall i put exhaust paste on the outside or pull it apart and put exhaust paste on the inside then put it back together?

    Cheers, Sean

Take it apart again and make sure the both joints are connecting and clamp the joints directly in the middle, tighten her up and then apply plenty of exhaust paste round the joints and the exhaust itself within a 8-10 inch either way for that extra safety, should be a good un then.

Because the paste will be in the exhaust system with the fumes, obviously not good Outside will seal it off fine.

put some on the inside and outside, if you just put a bit on the outside chances are it'll probably blow out after a while then your in the same situation again, exhaust paste stands a ridiculous amount of heat, you won't get any fumes trust me.

Yeah paste on both sides... I popped some on the inside and out of mine and didn't have any problems.

Are your bolts tightened up all the way? they've not just hit a ridge have they and left it with a small gap to blow out of...
