HELP steering rack

   hey iv just had my mk1 saxo vts mot'd and thay came back saying nearside ball joint (steering rack) had play is it a easy job to change the rack help please as want to get ot sorted thanks

   shouldnt need a new rack matey, it will either be the rack end(ball joint end that screws into the rack or the track rod end ball joint at the hub end that has the play in it, both are removable so new parts can be fitted

   Search button! its not the rack its a TRE by sound of it easy to change and cheap to buy

   think you mean track rod end ? it bolts onto the strut. if so its a 10 minuite job. wheel off and its there.

   ok thanks for the reply's also forgot to mention that when i turn the steering couple of inches side too side you can feel it through both track rod ends thas what made me fink it could have been the rack
