now then after i met ben from tmsport (has a rallye using an 8v on bodies running 123bhp at the wheels) it got me thinking why not mkae my 8v a little monster instead of going 16v so i am asking if you had an 8v what would you do???

ben is using the most mix match set up including triumph TB's and 16V pistons(dont know why any one help me?)

    my thoughts are

    rallye inlet
    cams maybe ph3's or 4's
    4 2 1

but then what? or what would you do different?

ideas? sorry if it seems a little silly but come on i want ideas

any rough prices on TB's with an 8v inlet?

because its bloody expensive lol i started out fitting a rallye head and inlet on to my vtr which already had a 4-2-1 and a supersprint exhaust, even if i managed to get the rallye bits and everything working would of only been about 100-110 bhp, and int he end i couldnt be bothered and bought a 16v engine for less money than i sold my 8v bits for and got more bhp/torque, and a better base for other mods

a rallye inlet costs between £30-£100 depends where you buy it from and if its already been modified to fit a saxo

a cam with new valve springs and a vernier pulley your looking at around £300 if you fit it your self

a 4-2-1 will cost around £150 for a cheap one

then you would probably want it mapped if its cammed with a different inlet which your looking at around £300, this might not be essential depends how your inlet suits your car and if you want the most out of your cam

also take in to account if the head comes off you have to change the head gasket and bolts and while your at it you'd be stupid not to replace the cambelt/tensioner/water pump which will cost around another £100

throttle bodies will cost around £1000 for a set of jenveys or around £600 if you got a set off bike bodies from colin and sandy

you will need a remap with the bodies and preferably stand alone management which will cost another £800-£1000, apparently chip wizards can remap you oem ecu for £450 to run throttle bodies, but not a lot of people rate it very much

so if you want rallye inlet, cam, 4-2-1, remap your looking around £950 if you fitted everything you self

and you'll be looking at around £2550 if you want bodies

then theres all the other little supplies you might want, oil filter, oil, spark plugs, fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator for the bodies etc

This is a ROUGH pricing guide

and i payed £300 for my vts engine/box/rad and fan and 120bhp straight out the box
