Missing fan?

  1. #1
Hey all, I've noticed on my saxo that it seems to be missing the radiator fan and also the frame it attatches to, its a 1.4 West Coast, drives fine without it as the temperature guage rarely moves above the halfway to the 2/3rds mark, (apart from when being in stationary traffic for long periods then it rises and i simply turn engine off)

I was wondering if this is maybe standard on some cars? My last West Coast had a fan though.

I've had a look inside my engine bay and cant seem to find a spare/loose plug to wire a fan up to, and was wondering if anyone could post a pic showing where the fan plugs into?

    Cheers

Needs a fan, 3/4 is considered to high in Saxo, half way or slightly under is where you want to be, fan should kick in just over half way.

Turning engine off when motor is hot is not good because the heat has no where to go and temp will rise even more due to coolant not circulating.

Fit a fan mate before your head gasket breaks down

    Hi,

    The 1.4 (TU3JP) definitely has a fan.

With aircon it has double fans fitted in front of the radiator; without aircon a single fan behind the radiator and kicks in at 97 degrees C, which is a just over halfway as Stevo said.

End of the day.... even if temp gauge doesnt go above half way, peace of mind that just incase it gets warm, its there to save your car

I'm going to get one, I just cant find a plug to fit it into the wiring loom, nothing seems "spare" if you get me, nor can I work out why it would have been removed :s

Anyone able to take a pic of their engine bay if they've got a 1.4 highlighting the fan connection plug to the wiring loom? I cant find a spare/loose plug anywhere and Haynes manual just isn't telling me
