is it worth it

   ryte last friday the driveshaft went, the splines nackered out on me and have taken the gearbox with it when checking the damage the engine has a nasty major leak
   spoke to the mother and if all is well i will be getting a £600 loan on saturday from her, now just deciding wether to get a runabout car or wether to drop a diffrent 1.4 (or possibly 1.6 vtr) engine in as ive seen them on ebay for around £150

   i already have the gearbox from a 1.6 vtr (mk1)
   and a drive shaft from the vtr, would these work on a mk2 or would i need new 1s?
   
   dont know what to do anymore

   im not sure tbh pal its just oil all over and the head gaskets due to go as i dont think its been chanced since it was made, the cars done 115000 miles
