Tapping noise

   I got a tapping noise coming from under the bonnet sounds like its coming from the passenger side, not sure where tho anyone have any ideas

   i had this the other day, it can be a few things. shocker mounts, driveshafts engine and gearbox mounts. hope this helps

   have a listen and try to be more precise, ie does the sound go when clutch pedal pressed? Does the sound increase with road speed or engine speed for example.
   
   It might also help if you borrowed a wooden spoon or similar and pressed one end onto your ear and the other onto different parts of the engine. Sounds weird but it works great!

   does it sound like a diesel.?
   Tappets or something, get them adjusted?

   I had the same kind of fault about a month ago, the sound went when i applied pressure on the clutch but free roll it made a tapping and winding noise, i changed the front springs to lowering springs since then had new droplinks fitted and ever since it's been spot on .

   Sounds like a ball-joint to me.........or the main bush of the steering rack!
   Well in Malta those commonly go since the roads are pretty rough here!
