put some 35mm hubcentric spacers on the rear and 32mm ones on the front.
at full lock the fronts rub inside the arches so i can use just a bit less than full lock without them rubbing.
my issue is, im not sure if i can get away with how the wheels sit under the arches.
    what do you guys think?

thinking i might have to put the 32mm ones on the rear and i have some 20mm ones i could put on the front.

    cheers.

law says you can have rim poking out but not the tyre
  3. #3
tbf i doubt they will notice it
  4. #4
You'll be fine mate! My mates mini has been runnig about sticking out about 20mm! So you should be fine
  5. #5
lol i think you'll be fine

streched tyres problem solved. mot tester will love you with the ones you've got.
  7. #7
It's not the tyres, it's the tread - that's how the stretching makes it 'legal'. You can have as much sidewall as you want sticking out
  8. #8
its as long as the alloy doesnt stick out any further than the actual body. You'l be fine.

its fine, doubt any copper is gonna pull you over for a few mm out..

no one uses the search button any more!

your allowed upto 20mm of poke! this is allowed to be Rim or sidewall.
the tread is not allowed to be out though! to a certain extent!
only the central 3/4 of tread has to be road legal, the shoulders do not count! and can be as bald as a babys ass! so there is also a bit of leway when it comes to the "tread" being on show too!
so you have about 19mm left of poke!

Careful there.....wouldn't be too sure about that. Think you'll find that any baldness on the tyre is a) an MOT failure and b) definitely a penalty that the police can do you for, as thats where the minimum tread markers are aswell.

Oh, and I'd also be slightly concerned of your wheels smacking into the arch instead of going up inside the wing on the suspension "bounce" if you get me?

Think it might be a good idea to ask Tonto what he does for a living before you comment again fella

the 3 central 1/4 have to have legal tread,(1.6 or abive) the edge / shoulders can be as bald as maddy mccanes cunt!, aslong as they are not damaged nor chords exposed they are perfectly legal, as this can occure from suspension setup, camber, toe in / out wear, PAS wear or the road quality. they edges on alot of cars will wear before the center width.

a local officer on the plod SHOULD know this but they will try and enforce a punishment on you.
a traffic cop should let you off, but will try it! so you should make sure you know the facts first.

i actually carry a ruler around with me, with all tyre sizes upto 225 on, which show the 3/4 widths. on something like a 195 - 205 the edges are approx 1-2 figers width.

over time, the tyre will rub down the inside of the arch, or you can smooth it down yourself!
