car stuttering

  1. #1
when im driving normally, second gear upwards, if i put my foot all the way down, the car kind of stutters until its at enough revs to get out of the stuttering. hard to explain really. anyone have any ideas what it could be? its quite annoying, nothing too serious i dont think though

    cheers

if its below 2-2.5k in anything other than 1st then you would be touring the engine! making it stutter, so could explain it . . .

mine was pissing about reving itself anf feeling like it was stuttering reguardless of what speed of gear, cleaned the idle valve throttle and the sensors around it seems to have cured it both problems. used carb cleaner btw

Could be many things including the Idle Control Valve, oxygen sensor, fuel filter, plugs, air filter.

I know what he means- when engine under max load at low revs it misfires. this is caused by weak spark. Coil pack going or plug gaps too wide or HT leads of your car has em,, etc

wont be any of those except maybe the lambda sensor, is that what you meant by oxygen sensor?

hey cheers for replies =] much appreciated. i asked my mate if hed had this problem before, he had and he said he had his coil pack replaced and sorted it fine. im also gonna get lambda sensor replaced the light just came on the other day and had it looked at. stuttering started well before the light came on though so probably not the lambda
