Knocking/ticking noise

   My car is start making a ticking/knocking noise,
   
   I have had full service about 6 months ago and 2days ago there is a strange noise coming from the engine, car seems to run fine and idles fine, but I dont know what the noise can be.. The sound is coming from around the cambelt area under it or around it, do you know what it could be.

   My old vts had a loud ticking noise which was the fuel relay. Stick your head under the bonnet again...its to the left of the cambelt, under the ecu.

   mine has a "hollow" knocking from the engine bay, used a stehoscope on the engine and no knocks from the bottom end or the head. may look at the area mentioned. and sorry for the poor spelling.

   If it is the fuel relay thats ticking, you'll need to replace it. Not sure what citroen would charge but i'd imagine ECP or GSF would be much cheaper.

   Just had another listen with a mate he recons its coming from under the rocker cover near the 16v box. the oil is ok, so I dont know what could be the problem

   Will try that matey. It gets quicker the more the revs go up but not louder

   I know you have vts's, but my vtr has the same type of noise and it seems to be from the inlet area(just had a quick listen). Again, runs fine and oil,plugs and other bits are all good. I'm lost to what is the cause.

    Yeah same here.. Goin take it garage later or 2mora let them have a listen. Kinda worried as dont want ruin the car. But really do need my car lol

    Spoke to a guy on the phone from local garage, he said it sounds like a bearing rod on its way out? No idea what that is but he goin have a look at 5
