car stalls only when braking hard

   as title realy when i am driving slow'ish and coming to a stop slowly the car is fine but when i slow down quick the car stalls as soon as i drop the clutch the revs drop to around 400 to 500 rpm then stalls but it does starts straight away but then sometimes idles abit routhly and tries to stall but any other time the car idles fine thanks for any help

   Could be several things mate...icv, maf or map sensors, coolant temp sensor etc etc. Best thing to do is get a diagnostics check done and see what it throws up...£20-£40 depending on the garage and it could end up saving you money in the long run. You could try cleaning the icv first and see if that works.

   Also the throttle cable might be sticking, take it out and give it a clean. I had the same problem

   I had this problem mate, it was a build up of carbon on the throttle body, I basically opened the butterfly bit of the throttle and blasted it with carb cleaner, runs like a dog for about two mins but cured my problem..
   
   My car basically used to stall when approaching roundabouts, coming off at junctions etc, used to have to bump start doing about 40mph to get going again was fun!

   got my carb cleaner and sprayed some in the throttle body and it has improved abit but how much should i put down there
   would it be worth taking the throttle body off and cleaning it properly thanks again

   Hi i took the throttle body apart and it was full of carbon so i cleaned it all out got it looking good then put it all back together and it had been working brilliantly no idle problem and not stalling on deceleration.
   but it has just come back with avengence its worse than it was before its now stalling all of the time and its stalling on deceleration but no worning the revs dont drop then lifts again it just dies i hope someone can help as this car and its promlems seem to be never ending

   Get it to a garage and get a diagnostics test done...otherwise you might end up spending money on parts that arent needed.
