Cigarette lighter

   My cigarette lighter doesnt light up when the lights turn on.. i have taken the whole thing out and i cant see how a bulb would even fit to light it up.. could anyone explain how its suppose to light up...... also does the fan speed dial light up because mine isnt as well thanks

   The fan speed dial doesnt light up. As for the cigarette lighter i cant help im afraid. Useless anyway i took mine straight out and put a cover where it was.

   theres an led on the top of the lighter, its in a square box thing

   I think i know the part its a little plastic bit with a bulb enclosed and 2 bits of tiny metal strip out the botttom either side of the box i guess pos & neg..... any idea how i would wire the bulb im not to sure which is positive etc lol

   just replace the bulb it'll only work one way so give it a go

   Mine doesn't even work and it's not fuse as my horn still works any ideas

    I just had to change the bulb its a 286 bulb from halfords

    ..There's a light for when the cigarette lighter is heated up? Never knew that - thought it just popped back.

    It aint they get stuck to it then u end up smokin the car out cos the tabbaco has caught fire

    Agreed, its pretty shoddy im just keepin it there to tap into the wires to do my footwell neons

    theres a backlight to the cigarette lighter theres a halo ring around it which glows faint green when the bulb is working

    just came across this as something very strange has just happened to me.
    my light didn't work either, until I did a handbrake turn (don't judge me ) anyway after this it started working. however the led was shining though the slots and distracting me, so I broke it again, this time on purpose. doubt this helps, just thought I would let you know what happens if you get it working
