Cituning

Just a quickie, Has anyone actually witnessed one of these cituning 1.8 stroker kits in a saxo on the road? ( not just on you tube) Are they actually any good, or is it not worth throwing money at? Cheers
P.s I know i could blow the money on something better but i like driving "The Go-Kart"!!!

i havnt but the reson alot of people havnt is because they dont want to be rebuilding there engine after a long run. I believe it require an increase bore of the cylinders which makes the block wall finer and unable to deal with the temp and pressure. then the engine is dead to be blunt lol.

i know a stroker kit increase the distance the piston travels but i believe it still need to be bored not sure hope this helps.

i dont like the way cituning deal with there customers

i ordered a lower strut brace and that took a month to come.... then told me the price had gone up...
    not a fan

Kam racing sell a similar kit. Apparently the extra 200cc comes from smaller pistons height wise or something as the block cannot be bored out any more.

I'm pretty sure they bore it out to 80mm (standard is 78.5mm) and adjust the stroke accordingly.

I'm sure I've read somewhere that a European Saxo has tried 81mm pistons - not sure how correct or true this was as 80mm you're not left with a huge amount of material between cylinders

Yu can change capacity by just having shorter con rods no need to bore or by having a crank tht gives shorter throws

    Not 100% correct.

Shorter conrods on their own will drop compression ratio considerably. Stroker kit will normally use shorter conrods and a longer throw on the crank.

And for the cost, they arent worth it unless you are in competitive motorsport.
