hey ive just dun a vts conversion im having trouble matchin the older model engine loom to the later model interior loom......... ive got the engine turning over and fuel spraying but no spark or anyting going to the coil pack... the ecu is unlocked i got it off ryanmt so i kno for deff.... im relli stoaked need to get my car running like now as i need it for work any body got any ideas or has the engine loom diagrams for earlier model vts and later model 2002 furio please can u help as im relli stoaked and flat out outta money now.. went cam shopping
also are the crank sensors diff ? im using the later model 1.4 gear box on a early 2000 vts ...

#2what engine loom are you running ? A Single plug vts ? in a 3 plug furio ?

#3yeh single vts 3 plug furio i need help to splice the single plug into the master plug for the interior loom...... but ive got the ignition key clicking 3 times trying to start the 3rd time its injecting fuel but it wont fire up ive checked and there is no power going to the coil to spark at all...

#4crank position problem as you said you've fitted the 1.4 one?
How many pins does the vts crank position sensor have? How many does the 1.4 one have?
Sounds like a wiring problem, could be a nearth? -
#5theve both got 2 pins so i cant see it being a problem but just wondered if any 1 knew if they were diff but im sure there aint... ive got it all earthed out but i culd try another earth direct to the battery...

#7just tried the earth direct to the battery and still nothing..... culd it be to do with the master plug being wired in wrong.... i relli need a wiring diagram from the early vts engine loom and the later model 1.4

#8It could be a wiring problem - if you'd have got a 3plug loom and ecu would have been plug and play.
You could try and use a multimeter to see if the coilpack plug is getting any power at all?
Fuses all okay ? -
#9im gunna grab a multi meter off my m8 2mo and go thru everything im 90 sure all the fuses are gd but ill check them all and post back l8a cheers for help m8!

#10Does the ecu power up? does the ecu light come on and the relay click. Does the fuel pump prime?

#11yeh the fuel pump comes on the 2nd ignition click and the injectors are sprayin into the engine as it cranks over theres fuel cummin out of 234 cylinders but as ive probs dun all the multi plug wrong i dont fink the ecu light comes on on the dash the engine management light dus but as it cranks over it turns off along with the oil light etc...

#16okay ive gone thru it all, ive got power going up to the coil pack but not thru the coil pack... my injectors spray every now and then but not properly
..... ive used the crank sensor off the 2002 1.4 saxo as im using tht gear box... but could it be this causing problems? or culd my coil be fuked im stoaked and all out of ideas... big thanks to ryanmt for the help this morn relli gave me a gd idea of how it was working and where to look!!! -
#17Right I've put a vts engine in my mk1 vtr engine out of a mk1 same reg loom plugged straight in but I have fuel and it primes with ignition on and one wire to coil pack has 9v feed but wen fuel pump stops priming the feed to coil pack goes and when I crank I have no spark any ideas ive tryed loads even another unlocked ecu!
