engine starting to tap

   my engine has started to make a tapping noise,
   which you can hear not loud but can still hear it,
   i think its coming from inside where the cams are??
   its only started about 3 days ago,
   i had a oil change this year done 3months ago the engine oil,
   is is right to the max level not over it,
   where care the tappets located could it be them or something else??

   probably the tappets like you say mate. don`t think there adjustable on the vts though. maybe someone else can correct me if im wrong

   yeah pretty sure they are hydraulic, the only way to stop the tapping is to replace them i think.

   just a note check spark plugs arent loose... i've had that before after a shitroen service a few years ago.. 1 worked loose sorted myself so no extra cost... although 3 garages recommended a engine rebuild or new engine.. noobs

   as stated above mate i would check your spark plugs as one of mine was loose when i first bought my saxo so i changed them all and voila

   Whats your mileage? As long as it's got fresh oil it's not a problem.

   Hi matey my car is now on 60k its got fresh oil as had oil change had spark plugs changed.. Mainy ticks/taps after engine has warmed up,
