1.1 to vtr engine. need wiring help

   hi. recently put a 1.6 vtr engine in my 1.1. the car had the 1.1 hfx engine in it on a 2002 plate and the vtr was a 2000model. engine is all in place but i need to joint the wires as its not a straight fit and cant find any diagrams or that to help me. any help to links or diagrams would be well apreciated folks. cheers

   Was the VTR engine a mk1 version (black top) if so you need the interior loom from a mk1 too.

   no mate it was a mk2 silver top engine with a single plug ecu and the 1.1 is the hfx engine with 3plug ecu

   I'm guessing you mean the large circular plug doesn't match correctly, this is why you need to buy looms of the same year.

   3 plug and single plud dont match. You need one or the other

   the vtr is single plug and the 1.1 is 3 plug. if i bought a loom i would have to buy a ecu to fit it and i dont want to do that

   Basically I think you will just need a 3 plug loom, and plug ecu, but I may be completely wrong here, as I have never looked into doing it this method, always sourced parts from the same year!
