  1. #1
    Hey everyone.

I want to here everyones opinion on the top 5 DIY mod's?

like T-cut badges, mesh grille, de-wiper....
  2. #2
I presume we're talking about styling mods ?

    I'd say:

    T-Cut rear badges
    de-wiper
    de-doorpin the doors
    wheel bolt covers
'spray' type washer jets (from a 307/c3 etc.)

Can do, if you've got £400 wheels or just painted them, then having some nice covers can just tidy it all up.

Just means removing the door pins that move up and down when you lock and unlock the car.

You should still have them, but I'd be nervous about doing it if you don't have central locking - I personally wouldn't

Any mod can be diy if you have the tools lol
And yeah probably all as mentioned above are what your after.
I was gonna de pin mine just for security reasons, but that's the problem with having a kill switch, central locking doesn't work until it's on. So i would have to unlock my door, chuck the keys to the passenger for them to unlock their door. Not gonna happen
  10. #10
Leave your door pins in, then if your ever struggling to get into the car you can get your coat hanger or cable ties out lol.
  11. #11
    okkay mate cheers

i have done a few mods to it like mesh my grille but i was thinking what do you think about painting my chevrons black, i have silver mesh behind the badge and my car is like a sliver/blue colour ?

I've got standard VTR rims that i was thinking about refurbing. for the sake of a £10er it may be worth it lol. cheers
  14. #14
so is it to risky to remove pins without central locking?

Yeh, just makes it look a lot smarter when you refurb them and they look mint.

Just imagine perfect looking wheels with nice rusty wheel bolts - no point painting the wheel bolts as will be chipped etc when you do them up, the covers solve this problem

Thats why you buy a decent alarm like toad ai606. Its all weighing up the options as we all now, and personal preferences. I still have my door pins in, and the theif that took my sound system still smashed the window.
  17. #17
i did my alloys and spoiler my self and that looks sweet, like some one put up there ^^^ any diy job can be done to your car if you have the tools
  18. #18
if you havent got central locking mate, leave your door pins in. And possibly look into geting and alarm fit. You can get toad ai606 which is a great alarm, as a few recomended on here for me as i was undecided. And you can have central locking fit along with it. You would be looking about £300 fitted, but there are cheaper alarms available

keep your door pins. how would you unlock the passenger door from the inside if a passenger wants to get in lol
  21. #21
1- respray the cars interior trim
    2- add a saxp sticker
    3- smoked rear lights
    4- alloys
    5- (dont know for a 5th idea)

well i aint done it but it cant be that hard. just chop away as best as you can, wet n dry with whatever grit is best then give it a spray then bung some mesh on the back now your good to go! and you can mesh fog's i think, but spray the surround of the fogs would look smart, especially if you have a colour coded car, and the interior the same just a lil advice

  28. #28
well can you upload a pic of your car mate?
  29. #29
chop down airel down and glue a skinny valve dust cap on it
  30. #30
I dont have central locking, and i have depinned doors.
I would rather get out the car to unlock the passenger door than risk having someone break in in 5 seconds with a couple of cable ties tbh.

It isnt exactly a massive inconvenience.
  31. #31
can any one put pics up off meshed grll please
