exposed wires inside

   just finished stripping the interior of the car ready for the new buckets and cage, so I've got some exposed wiring along the floor. Was going to tidy it up anyway but my dads just mentioned it saying it's illegal to have any wires showing on the inside of a car, anyone shed any light on this?

   No that's wrong. If they are exposed as in not insulated then that's a stupid idea and would probably be grounding on the floor anyway. But no, it isn't illegal.

   I would just make them look nicer and protect them by wrapping them, or using cable tidy sheaths etc.

   I'm going to try and do some re routing next weekend. Wanna repaint the whole floor so they have got to be moved.

   another thing, as the interior is now quite bare, wires everywhere. my MOT is due on 5th June, will it pass?

   Don't worry about the wiring. That's the same question as it being legal. If it's not legal it won't pass mot

   As long as you have seatbealt etc i think it should pass as they only look for a small amount of things on the inside.

   only have 2 front seats, so only have 2 front seat belts. no rear seats, so no need for rear belts?
