what size is towing eye thread?

   My lovely shiny new towing eye arrived today, but when I went to fit it it didnt screw in. After cursing the seller loads for sending the wrong thread (sorry), I tried in the original towing eye, it didnt go either. So it seems I need to run a tap through. Anyone know what size?

   I would go with 1.25
   
   Get a wheel bolt and put it up against the thread on the toweye - if they mate up nicely then it's 1.25, otherwise I'd say 1.50

   I just used a bolt from bnq... was the m12 like i said above but fitted fine for my tow strap
