It depends if you think it's worth the time and money repairing. Have you been quoted a price for the work?

I've had the same problem MOT wise, i've opted to give it a go and try fix the problems i had, my main problem was the rear axle, so i bought a new re-conditioned axle from IM axles and sorting the problems out now

    Mines a W reg 2000 VTS on 106k

£600 isn't a bad price imo for all them repairs but then again you gotta consider whether you are willing to spend that money to get it back onto the road and whether you would make the money back or not when it comes to reselling

You may be able to pick up another saxo with long mot then move ur parts onto that if it looks decent and sell urs for spares and repairs/ maybe just break it?

The overheating issue doesn't sound good to me mate - could be something expensive or maybe even the head gasket?

Cheapest option is to repair it yourself but its your decision bud

im gonnado wishbones and the cat. i think gaz will help me witht eh rear beam and the thermostat was fucked at the time and the manual override on my fan was switched off so it over heated

The over ride should be wired in parralel with the thermo switch. (You should not be able to stop the fan from cutting in error in with your switch-it just defeats the object in having it).

I would stick it in BCA auction to go through on a Saturday and be done with it!
