Side exit exhausts

Now i know they wont be to everyones taste, and ive only heard of one other saxo with one. but i need one in my life, im thinking of getting one made at work, all the tools etc, does anyone know if they have to exit a certain side or angle to keep them legal (sound and sticking out the body)?
Would a chunk of side skirt need cutting out or can you rest it underneath? or will it alll come down to personal taste. any help will be appreciated as i got a mate at work willing to do it all for me, just getting clued up on it first.

hard one to call as an exhaust is made a certain width for the length the gas has to travel.... also all the underneath of the car would have to be changed to fit an new exhaust tunnel in... also gotta think about gettin the cat in there unless your guna have bodge mot's

no bodge MOT's, i work at a reputable garage so i want it all legit.
we had a mk3 golf come in today with a 3inch side exit and it basically followed the constours of the original and then exits over the rear axle, real nice fit. cant picture the underneath of a saxo lol so it will be on the ramp the weekend to figure out a route, pipe width etc.

hi my old saxo had side exit exhaust but they come out each side of the rear bumper. im sure you will have no probs doin them coming out of the side skirts tho

i done a letterbox 8 by 2 inch side exit on a punto gt once looked good, will be good to see something different on a saxo

not wanting a rectangle like exit, want to keep it the same width as my supersprint centre section all the way through with the tail pipe just being the end of the pipe simply lol.

Diesel/track car style down turn ftw.

i had a 2inch exit coming out just infront of the passenger rear wheel.
bought a straight through centre pipe marked it up and cut it in half.
Then chopped it up some more and welded it back together until it was near the sill.
Then cut the tip off an old pugsport backbox and hung it out the side of the car.

I then chopped the recess out my rear bumper so it didnt look as silly with no exhaust in the bumper cut out.

TBH i was bored and it was a £300 car. Dont do it imo looks crap, sounds crap, and when you have the windows down you choke yourself out
