VTR Problem again

    Hi everyone
I've just recently replaced the wheel bearing on the front drivers wheel as there was alot of play in the wheel, but now all has been put back together and everything checked. The car sounds as though the wheel is coming off, i've tightened all bolts and drivesahft nut and there still seems to be play in the wheel, any suggestions to what it could be?

I think it could be the hub as the driveshaft has been replaced also.

    Any ideas thanks

Hi, there are two types of driveshaft. One is straight and the other tapered on the part just behind where the hub splines are. Any chance you have fitted the wrong type?

    Hi,

ABS was an option on VTRs.

There is a guide in the Premium area with a picture of two driveshafts for a VTS which has ABS. Both the tapered and flat driveshafts are shown for this model.

Unless, someone with more experience than me says that there is only one type for the VTR then I'd assume that there are two.

As you have the old drive shaft - have a look at the collar just behind the splines at the hub end. See if it is flat or tapered then compare it to the new shaft.
