gearbox troubles

   I have started to have a small crunch when engaging any gear (this is from a recon box which has done about 2k miles), when i pull off there is a loud 'clonk'. could this be a gearbox mount? would this have any effect on the gears engaging smoothly?

   It could be the lower mount. Make sure it is all tight and secure.
   
   Did you get it refurb'd or did you buy a refurb'd box?

   again could be a lower gearbox mount / fork bush problem.
