Hi iam thinking of getting some 16" alloys with 195/40/16 tyres on , but ive herd with them tyres u can feel every small little stone and holes in the road .because the tyres are so thin , Is this true .

    Thanks Tom

i dunno about a 'little stone' but you will feel more of the road surface in relation to bumps and pot holes!

the interior will rattle much more also.

Not that bad as danny says, go for it.

Only downside is the tyres are expensive as fook. I had to fork out £75 for one on saturday.

75 quid isnt that bad, i used to have one of these (exactly the same but a hardtop) and the tyres were £131 each

might be a bit of a hard ride but wheels look better with lower profiles on them. to much rubber spoilles alloys. just look at the vtr allys with 50 or 55's on i think. look huge on the wall. no rubbing either down 40mm

the roads r in such shit condition u feel every bump or pot hole no matter wot any way! well thats around my way anyway! lol

but yea go 4 it it wont make much if any diff!

no rubbin wen down 60mm either!

thats a bit extreme but u will feel more vibration and harder ride. U could get 195/45's either, slightly more tire there and still looks good. its still a low profile. wont take from ride comfort much either.

irish roads are prob the worst around and i kno a few lads wit sax's on 195/45/16 and they grand.

we dont have pot holes here we have craters!! u'd nearly lose a saxo in some of them

45 profiles will rub but 40's you can get away with a full car down 60mm like I used to have.
