Its a constant humming sound when driving, I know my right side driveshaft is knackered, its not that though, and my tyres are just legal but I doubt they would make a loud humming noise.. My thoughts are the gearbox but do they make a loud humming sound? or anything else that makes a noise?
Weird humming sound while driving..

#2Mine does this I think but only over about 55. I thought it was just wind noise though, maybe not- helpful I know! I've only had it 2 months so still getting used to it. Any ideas would be appreciated. I did think it might be a bearing but garage said that was fine.

#3Hmm, its definitely not wind noise.. Its just a loud hum when going over 10mph.. I will change the tyres and see if that cures anything :/

#4Bearing?

#5as above , when you turn the wheel can you hear a spinning noise

#6Wheel bearing???

#7Nah both bearings are new on the front, have less than 2000 miles on them

#8May sound stupid but have you got the large standard ariel? If so over 30mph they can make a right noise in the wind and the sound is thrown so you can't tell where it's coming from. Just an idea.

#9My first post so hopefully it could prove to be a helpful one. When i owned a type r when i first bought it it had a real annoying humming sound. Upon inspection of the rear tyres i found that both inner edges where worn down and uneven, i assume from going over those black speed bumps or something. I changed the tyres and then it was blissfully quite. I could be completly wrong with this noise but certianly worth a look
