my passanger cv joint went so i went down the breakers and got a new one with new gaters and everything really happy, well any way the nut on my original drive shaft was about an inch or so long, my new one was half the size. the people at the breakers said it will be perfectly fine as long as i use the short nut that came off the drive shaft, it came off a 106. iv had it on over a week now and it has be fine, will it be fine?

    thanks

you want to match the nut to the driveshaft as you need there to be indents to stake the nut into.

You ideally should replace the hub nut with a new one everytime you undo it.

I'm running 106 shafts on mine and have the same short nut. For some reason the 106 threads are shorter, no idea why but aslong as the nut comes to the end of the thread and is staked into the notch at the end when its tight then you shouldn't have an issue. If you use the bigger nut the shaft only threads halfway into it.

The starnge thing is the nearest one I can get from citroen is the nyloc one used on the C3 etc but peugeot will always give me the correct thin ones

shorter nuts are usually found on flat end shafts, longer ones on taper end shafts

this ^ in my experience, did you compare the new driveshaft to the old one to ensure you were using the same type? if so then dont worry, if not then you might want to check it, or wait and see if the wheel bearing fails
