#2Have you got anything using a constant live to the battery, like a stereo system. This can drain down a faulty battery. Best thing to do is go to a motor factors and get a free battery test and altenator check.

#3It might be different but i had a similar problem on my old mini and it turned out to be a earth strap that had snapped.

#4disconnet battery (make sure you know your radio code)! then clean terminals and bollock down both the terminal leads, if that doesn't sort it then get a free check of the batt and alt as previously mentioned as it's highly likely to be one or the other but my guess is the battery...

#5test the current draw from your battery, then start unplugging things and see if it goes down when you unplug something.
you have any ICE in the car ? -
#6Hi,
Sounds like your alternator is not working or delivering charge to the battery. Stick a multimete on your battery terminals and look for 14.5v. 12v or less and the alternator is either not working or it is not properly connected to your battery.
You may have battery symbol lit on your dash board. See: http://www.saxperience.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=228917 -
#7I'd say its more likely the alternator has gone or on the way out, or even the belt driving it has snapped maybe.
Cos if it was the earth strap then no matter how many times you try and jump start it from another car it wont fire up at all, as this is what happened to my clio -
#8As above, also you might find it easier to unplug fuses one by one. measure current flow with multimeter like thisQuote:test the current draw from your battery, then start unplugging things and see if it goes down when you unplug something.

[earth cable]-----[-batt+]-----[meter]-----[batt+ cable]
Set meter to AMPS, do not turn anything on except small things like interior light, side lights etc when doing this because you will likely pop the meter/fuse in the meter.
