    Cheers

Send them to be powder coated and baked will last alot longer than spraying them. Shouldn't Cousteau to much if you prep them yourself

As much as people slate halfords on here, iv never had a problem with using their primer, paint and laquer for doing alloys

Sweet. Is the finish quite good on them? I guess it takes quite a few coats to get it looking good?

Acid # 8 is amazing primer, high build stuff too, take a look at the alloys i refurbished in my progress thread, then i used "halfrods" paint n laquer

Ive done 7 sets of alloys now and by far the best finish was with Halfords paint. Use the high build primer as a base and wet sand then you will have a good base to spray onto.

Dont know about a great finnish with tht lolz
like most people say go for a high build primer
sand with wet and dry to get out im-perfections
    another coat of primer
sand with wet- wet and dry
then a coat of paint, if matt, u wont need alot of coats but if its gloss keep going untill you start to get a shine on it without it running,
let it dry and give it a laquer, lots of coats is better than a lot of laquer as you will get white blobs on the corners etc.

you probably knew all that but thats how i do them

automotive paint through a gun, can't beat it

go halfords if you cannot afford powdercoating

you will need to use etch primer. i used U-POL. its a primer for aluminium.
other primers will just chip off with stones. its like 9.99 for 500ml can and thats more than enough. a few coats of that, then spray any colour you want a few times then lacour. leave it over night to harden before you go racing about.

iv done every set of wheels iv had like this and never had a problem

I also have to agree with some of you boys on here about halfords paint,i find its a lot harder than the other cheaper stuff,e.g hycote which sprays lovely from the can,but seems very soft when dry,as i seem to rub through very easy. Also halfords stuff has a lot better shine when mopped.

overspray you mean, you need to adjust your airflow and gun to keep down the amount of overspray
