whilst i am not saying the price of the grounding kit is good or bad --as i have not quality of the cable or connectors --could be gold plated (no thats not a joke).
I will say that your attitude to electrics -is totally wrong .
you can have a complete circuit ,but if the resistance ,caused by less than perfect connections ,is too high then all electronics will not function as designed and will cause all the problems they list .
easy test
take DVM and check your resistance of your power and earth s -if more than 2-3 ohms you have problems--finding where the problem is another story.
then of course testing the resistance with no load is not the same as testing it when you are trying to draw current through the circuit .
the simplest example would be .
take the thinest wire you can find make a circuit to a battery with it and measure --will show 12v and neglible resistance .
now try and run a starter motor or headlamp bulb from the same wiring --instant electric fire and motor will not turn --why because the resistance is to high when trying to draw large amount of current .
elctricity flows along the surface of the wire -not through the center ,thats why you use very highly stranded cable for amplifiers ----big current draw over a large distance --
so to flow more current you use more strands of wire.
for any elctrical geeks outhere this is the laymans version --i know there is more to it than i have said but this the basic version .
anyway you will see from the above that you can have a circuit ,but if there is not engough surface area contact ,then you will not get the correct results.
saxo /106 looms are poor by design on earths + major power supplies ,add 10 years and things start to go worng --
why use gold connectors ?
gold does not corrode and has very good conduction properties.
buy a cheap ecu = wiring loom and pinconnectors will be tinned --buy proper milatary spec connectors or an up market ecu and the connector pins are gold plated £2 a pin --this is wht miltayr spec conector plug = socket can over £100 for a 25 way unit.
then the actaul wire
std motor factor wire to pass 17 amps is over twice the dia of silver plated wire -- silver coated wire is £35 for 10 metres noraml £10for 50metres--If you were citreon which would you use and if you were bulding a REAL race car which one then ?
les rssitance means less heat and less power consumption ,also the loom is a lot thinner and lighter
